SEMICONDUCTOR LASER MODULATION TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

This report describes: (1) the procedures developed and problems encountered in fabricating a laser-piezoelectric modulator unit, (2) tentative schemes for examining the modulated output, (3) facilities build-up for the continuation of the program. No modulation tests have been performed as yet. The most significant item is that present assembly techniques for the laser-modulator units make subsequent repolarization of the piezoelectric material necessary. (Author)
