TESTS FOR DISCRIMINATION BETWEEN REGRESSION MODELS.

Abstract

It is shown that the problem of discriminating between two regression functions f and g can be solved by considering the regression lambda f + (l-lambda)g. This leads to the test derived by Hoel. It is shown that tests derived by Hotelling, Williams and Kloot, and Williams are deficient in a way. An appropriate procedure which is free from such deficiency is suggested. (Author)
