PHOTOPLASTIC RECORDING FILMS REUSABILITY STUDY.

Abstract

The effect of multiple uses on the photoconductivity, rheology and surface appearance of photoplastic films was investigated. Factors influencing reuse are stability to heat during development and erasure, to light during image projection, and the appearance of spurious deformations (noise) from charging effects. From reusability tests on films with copper phthalocyanine and a soluble organic photoconductor in a dust-controlled ambient, it was inferred that at least 50-60 uses are possible for line-copy applications.
