STRESS ANALYSIS LIGHT SET, GENERAL ILLUMINATION, AIRBORNE-AN/AVQ-5(XA-1).

Abstract

The airborne battlefield illumination system, installed in a C-123B airplane, is composed of seven major structural components. These components, designed to be easily removed from the airplane are: the power pod and pylon, the heat exchanger pod and pylon, the pylon racks, the operator's seat and console, the luminaire support structure, the luminaire pods, and the upper door. The first four components are located in the cargo compartment, forward of the wings, while the latter three are located in the aft fuselage in the opening provided for the original loading ramp and cargo door.
