STUDY OF THIN FILM OXIDE ELECTROLYTES.

Abstract

The purpose of this program is to produce and study the properties of doped zirconia films which are potential electrolyte materials for high temperature oxide electrolyte fuel cells. This report describes apparatus for precision measurement of dielectric properties of the films and conductivity together with preliminary results for temperatures between 500 and 100 C. Refractive index of thin zirconia-scandia films as estimated from their interference color and thickness is discussed. (Author)
