STUDY PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A RADAR AS A TROPO COMMUNICATION FACILITY.

Abstract

This report is a record of the technical efforts and achievements accomplished during a six month test program to determine the feasibility of using pencil beam radars for tropo communication. Radars separated by 80 and 160 miles were used to communicate via the tropo scatter media. Communications reliability as a function of signal strength and off axis displacement of the antennas was determined. (Author)
