CONCERNING CERTAIN PROBLEMS RELATING TO INCOMPLETE COMBUSTION IN HEAT ENGINES.

Abstract

This paper contains an analysis of fundamental problems of incomplete combustion of hydrocarbon fuels, brought about deliberately by producing over-rich air-fuel ratios, and a description of the existing methods of calculation in dealing with some of these problems. A number of examples are presented to show how the effects of such a combustion process can be used in heat engines. Finally, some research problems are discussed, the solution of which is necessary for correct design and calculation of incomplete combustion processes. (Author)
