SUPERSONIC TRANSPORT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. PHASE III PROPOSAL. BOEING MODEL 2707. ENGINE INLET ANTI-ICING SUBSYSTEMS SPECIFICATION,

Abstract

The primary design objective of the IAIS shall be the control of ice accrual on the selected supersonic inlet surfaces to the level required to limit inlet airflow distortion, prevent damage to the engine in event of ice ingestion, and prevent blockage of the air data sensors. Failure of an anti-icing shutoff valve in the open position shall not prevent dispatch or continuation of normal flight. (Author)
