INTEGRATION OF A TIME SERIES REPRESENTATION OF HEAVING MOTIONS OF A SHIP IN A RANDOM SEAWAY.

Abstract

A method of numerically integrating a random heave velocity signal measured at the bow of a ship underway is pressented. Power spectra of the numerically integrated signals are compared to spectra of the integrated signals obtained electronically as part of a shipboard, bow-mounted, sonic wave height measurement system. Comparisons of the numerical and electronic integrations and corresponding power spectra indicate very good agreement. (Author)
