DEVELOPMENT OF PLANE STRAIN FRACTURE TOUGHNESS FOR HANDBOOK PRESENTATION.

Abstract

The purpose of this program is to experimentally determine plane strain fracture toughness (KIC) values for a variety of high strength-to-weight materials over a range of test temperatures. The ultimate objective is to develop the data in a form which would be useful for presentation in handbook form. During the current report period fracture toughness data were generated for 4140, 17-7PH, PH15-7Mo, and 17-4PH steels over test temperatures between -100 and +75 F. (Author)
