SUPERSONIC TRANSPORT PROGRAM. PHASE II-C REPORT. AIR INDUCTION CONTROL SUBSYSTEM SPECIFICATION, SST BOEING MODEL 2707.

Abstract

This specification establishes the requirements for performance, design, test and qualification of one type of equipment identified as the Air Induction Control Subsystem (hereinafter called the control subsystem). This subsystem is used to provide automatic and manual control of the air induction subsystem (hereinafter called the inlet). There shall be one independent control for each of the four inlets. The control subsystem effects changes in the geometry of the inlet centerbody and operates the bypass doors to provide efficient inlet airflow diffusion and high performance inlet-engine airflow match. The subsystems include necessary hydraulic power generation, distribution equipment, and flight deck controls and displays. Power from the airplane electrical system and from each of the engines is required by the subsystems in order to accomplish their intended missions. (Author)
