SUPERSONIC TRANSPORT PROGRAM PHASE II-C.

Abstract

Program management activities during October reflected the culmination of an increasing number of activities begun earlier in the Phase II-C Program as well as the refinement of many management tools and operational techniques in readiness for Phase III. Some of the events that are indicative of this activity include the wing-box test section received from Northrop-Norair electromagnetic riveting development (frontispiece), completion of the empennage test structure, the development of a new concept in heating elements for titanium hot-forming presses, the establishment of a unique subcontractor communication link, and the completion of the titanium fabrication addition to the Boeing Developmental Center where the prototype manufacturing is planned. These activities are described in this report. (Author)
