X-7A RAMJET TEST VEHICLE.

Abstract

During the period covered by this report, seven vehicles were flown. These performances indicate continued component-reliability finalization. A review of statistical data has revealed that an empirical correction can be applied to the Mach-senser ground setting, thereby obtaining a desired in-flight cut-in Mach number. A record in-flight operation time of 193 seconds was accomplished on Flight 63. Evaluative testing of the MA20F-7 engine to document shock-positioner operation is continuing. A new accelerometer switch capable of withstanding impact loads induced by rocket motor vibrations will be utilized.
