X-7A RAMJET TEST VEHICLE.

Abstract

During the period covered by this report, six X-7A flights were executed to investigate engine performance and ignition sequencing and to evaluate guidance and control systems. Additionally, seven airdrops were conducted to ascertain parachute stability and structural characteristics. Supporting ground tests of system and component reliability, of aerodynamic and thermodynamic affects on structures, and of improved structural designs were accomplished. Simulation studies were conducted for future X-7 A vehicles operating at more critical speeds and altitudes than those attained by the present model. (Author)
