A COMPARISON OF THE ANALGETIC POTENCY OF SOME OPIATES AS MEASURED BY THE FLINCH-JUMP PROCEDURE,

Abstract

The utility was estimated of the 'flinch-jump' procedure as a screening technique for analgestic drugs. The order of analgetic effectiveness of the opiates indicated by the 'flinch-jump' procedure compared well with the relationships found by other investigators for human pain relief. It is concluded that the procedure is useful as a screening method.
