PROLONGATION OF THE ACTION OF THE ACOUSTIC REFLEX,

Abstract

The effectiveness was determined of clicks or narrow band noise (NBN) acoustic reflex (AR) stimuli in reducing the temporary threshold shifts (TTS) of subjects (S) exposed to continuous noise. Click and NBN reflex arousal stimuli significantly reduced the TTS's of Ss exposed to continuous noise. The click and NBN stimuli did not significantly differ one from the other, however.
