THE AGAR-GEL PRECIPITIN-INHIBITION TECHNIQUE FOR STAPHYLOCOCCAL ENTEROTOXIN B ANTIBODY DETERMINATIONS,
Abstract
An application of the agar-gel precipitin-inhibition technique detects antibodies to staphylococcal enterotoxin B in human and animal sera. This serological test can be employed in the hospital laboratory to ascertain whether a food poisoning episode originated with enterotoxin B of Staphylococcus aureus, and it represents an in vitro serum neutralization test for toxin-antitoxin assays.
