HYDRAULIC PLUMBING FOR ADVANCED AEROSPACE VEHICLES.

Abstract

The Program Plan remains essentially unchanged from that reported in the First Quarterly REPort, NA-66-1141-1, dated 12 October 1966. This program is primarily concerned with annealed titanium alloy (6A1-4V) tubing and components. The second milestone in the program and the first relating to the plumbing simulator is entitled Establish Simulator Input Parameters has been accomplished on schedule and is included in this report under the heading Technical Discussion on Plumbing Simulator. This section includes all the environmental input data necessary for the design of the basic structure define the environment of the simulator are: System Pressure Oscillations; Pump Pressure Pulsations; Structural Flexures; Structural Vibration; Thermal Gradients. The definition of these environmental inputs are shown to be representative for an advanced aerospace vehicle and 3000 hour design life.
