L-BAND TETRODES.

Abstract

Initial designs were completed that will permit tetrodes to be made with fine-detail, high-dissipation grid structures closely spaced to the cathode. Many of the tube parts were fabricated. Single-tuned and multiple-tuned plate resonators were constructed for tests for the L-band tetrode. A double-step input transformer was designed for a broad-band input circuit. This design was optimized by use of a computer. The input VSWR is computed to be 1.3 or better over the 200 MHz band centered at 1.3 GHz. (Author)
