ELECTRON PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE OF DPPH IN A WEAK MAGNETIC FIELD. ABSOLUTE MEASUREMENT OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD CREATED BY A PAIR OF HELMHOLTZ COILS (REZONANTA PARAMAGNETICA ELECTRONICA LAD. P.P.H. IN CIMP MAGNETIC SLAB. MASURA ABSOLUTA A CIMPULUI MAGNETIC DAT DE O PERECHE DE BOBINE HELMHOLTZ).

Abstract

The free radical of diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) is used for absolute measurement of the magnetic field created by a pair of Helmholtz coils. The apparatus, circuitry, and electron resonance method employed are described. The conditions of the appearance of a double frequency signal with respect to the frequency of the modulating field are presented. The shape of the resonance signal and the influence of the modulating field frequency also are studied. A method is presented for calibrating the Helmholtz coils and error sources are analyzed.
