FORCE TESTS OF THE SATURN V LOR AND SATURN 1B/AS-206 CONFIGURATIONS AT MACH NUMBERS 1.5 THROUGH 8

Abstract

Static force tests were conducted on models of the Saturn V LOR and Saturn 1B/AS-206. Data were obtained at Mach numbers 1.5 through 8 at angles of attack from -4 to 13 deg. The Reynolds number, based on the booster diameter, ranged from 24,000 to 1,670,000. The results presented show the effects of Mach number and model attitude on the static longitudinal stability and axial-force characteristics.
