CHRONIC DISABLING DERMATOSES

Abstract

Researches have stressed two areas of outstanding importance in military dermatology: (1) cutaneous bacteriology and (2) the pathogenesis of sweat retention syndromes. It is unequivocally established that bacterial skin infections, primary or secondary, are a major source of disability, especially in tropical theatres. Moreover, a significant proportion of new arrivals experience sweat retention with all this entails in impairment of heat regulation and miliarial eruptions. (Author)
