Abstract

This document describes the configuration management plan that will be used by The Boeing Company for the supersonic transport preproduction prototypes and Phase 2-C. Configuration management is defined as the administration of procedures and processes which provides for the formal documentation of configuration definition, identification, change control, and accountability. The Boeing SST preproduction prototype and Phase 2-C configuration management plan emphasizes line organization management with support from administrative staffs as necessary. The proposed management controls, procedures and relationships will support the flexible, sequential approach to the prototype development program. The SST configuration management plan provides: Management control of the prototype configuration and Phase 2-C. Use of existing Boeing procedures specifically adapted to the needs of the FAA-SST program.
