SYNTHESIS OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS RELATED TO THERMALLY STABLE FLUIDS.
Abstract
Synthetic access to perfluoroaromatic compounds was attempted using Diels-Alder and nucleophilic substitution reactions. Synthesis of hexafluoro cyclopentadiene was attempted. Preparation of perfluorinated aralkyl ethers from perfluoroaromatic derivatives of carboxylic acids was attempted. A simple synthesis of sulfilimines was attempted. An acid-catalyzed ring contraction of diaryldithiadienes was investigated. (Author)
