AN AUTOMATED PROCEDURE FOR PRODUCING CONTOUR CHARTS.

Abstract

Recent developments in computer programming technology have indicated that a contour chart may be represented by a digital matrix and be graphically produced by computer-plotter techniques. The contour chart that is obtained by the computer-plotter method is produced much more quickly and is comparable in accuracy to the same chart produced by manual methods. This report consists of a description of three FORTRAN computer programs which will enable the user to produce a contour chart. These programs were developed in the Geodetic Studies Branch of the Geodesy Division and their titles are: (1) GRIDIT, (2) REGRIDIT, and (3) AUTOMATED CONTOUR. (Author)
