ADVANCED ARMY AIRCRAFT INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM (AAAIS).

Abstract

The advanced Army aircraft instrumentation system(AAAIS) is intended to simplify flight management problems, replace many conventional cockpit instruments, and present to the pilot, on a video screen inside the cockpit, a representation of the area in front of and below the aircraft. The AAAIS has been installed in a Beechraft NU-8E airplane. The system is classified as an advanced deveopmental item, designed for evaluation of the contact analog vertical and horizontal situation displays, together with auxiliary vertical tape instruments and a voice warning system.
