COMPRESSIBLE PLANE JET BOUNDED BY THIN JET SHEETS.

Abstract

The problem of interaction between two or more gas jets is of increasing interest due to their more and more numerous applications in different fields. Thus far only certain aspects of the problem have been studied and solved. Investigation of the effect of marginal jets on the motion of plane fluid jets has proved particularly interesting and timely. The present paper attempts to determine the effect of compressibility on the contraction of a plane gas jet bounded by thin jet sheets, by extending certain hypotheses accepted by D. Pantazopol, 'On a method for the study of plane incompressible jets bounded by thin jet sheets' (in Rumanian), St. Cerc. Med. Apl., 14, 4, 1963. (Author)
