REACTIONS BETWEEN TERTIARY AMINES AND ORGANOHALOGENATING AGENTS.

Abstract

The report is concerned with the overall research accomplishments under the title contract at the University of Wisconsin extending from July 1, 1963 to January 1, 1966. These studies have led to elucidation of the chemistry of a large number of organochlorinating agents particularly of Chloramine T, Dichloramine T, N-Chlorosuccinimide, and a variety of N-chlorodialkylamines. Investigation has included both the thermodynamic availability of positive chlorine and the kinetics and mechanistic aspects. (Author)
