DAY-NIGHT-TWILIGHT CHART.

Abstract

The 'Day-Night-Twilight Chart' provides a ready reference as to the sunlit portions of the northern hemisphere at 0000Z, 0600Z, 1200Z and 1800Z. It is anticipated, that as a guide to those weather reporting stations which are affected by solar heating at these principal synoptic reporting times this chart will prove useful in meteorological analysis. The subject chart may also prove useful in anticipating the time at which the sun's influence will reach or leave the ionospheric mid-point between a transmitting and receiving station, and therefore the time at which RF communication characteristics may be expected to change. The operational planners may find this presentation helpful for quick-look estimates as to the time span of useful light at a particular point during the several seasons.
