EXTENSION OF MICROMINIATURIZATION OF THE AN/TTC-19 ELECTRONIC SWITCHING CENTER.

Abstract

The report presents memory requirements for a control processor to be used in a miniaturized switching center, flow charts, jump tables and sequences for estimating the complexity and memory requirements for accommodating standard military numbering plans (subscriber numbers). It defines the computers that were studied primarily to gain knowledge of specialized processor requirements for controlling an automated tactical communication switching center. This report describes the work accomplished in breadboarding a time-division switching matrix and contains the results of transmission tests which exhibit characteristics set forth in MIL STD 188B. It also presents information on the work that has been accomplished in breadboarding a line termination unit, comprised of filters, transformers and the speech sampling contact (time divisor gate) primarily to determine the degree of size and weight that could be achieved over post design approaches.
