APCSE FIRST YEAR PROGRAM STATUS REPORT. VOLUME I.

Abstract

The Advanced Power Conversion Skid Experiment (APCSE) is a program to demonstrate the production of 300 KW electrical power from a compact, closed Brayton cycle power conversion system. This report describes the first year of activity under this program. Component testing was conducted for the precooler, turbomachinery lubrication system, electrical generator, start system, and turbine speed control system. The APCSE system was assembled, and closed-cycle tests were conducted with an axial flow turbine-axial flow compressor single shaft turbine-compressor set. (Author)
