NUMERICAL HYDRODYNAMIC CALCULATIONS OF THE FLOW OF THE DETONATION PRODUCTS FROM A POINT-INITIATED EXPLOSIVE CYLINDER

Abstract

With the use of the NOL two-dimensional hydrodynamics computer program (CYCLONE), a detailed numerical analysis is made of the flow in the product gas of a detonating cylinder of pentolite (50/50 PETN/TNT) explosive. The explosive cylinder is initiated at a point on the central charge axis at one end-face.
