COMPARISON TEST OF RIFLE, 5.56-MM, M16

Abstract

The purpose of this test was to determine if production-line samples of M16 rifles would comply with performance specifications; to detect any design, manufacturing, or inspection deficiencies; and to determine the accuracy and the ability of the rifle to function when subjected to automatic-fire roles and under various adverse conditions. The test was conducted between 26 May and 14 September 1964.
