SILVER-ZINC MISSILE POWER SUPPLY.

Abstract

Phase IIb of the Missile Power Supply Program, involving the design, development and fabrication of an 8500 watt battery-converter combination power supply was initiated. The findings and recommendations made at the conclusion of the Phase I Study program are summarized and reviewed. The Phase IIb activity is defined and a detailed task breakdown is presented for both the silver-zinc battery program and the DC to DC converter program. Preliminary work on the silver zinc battery design and development is discussed. Weight and volume parameters for two approaches to a 169 watt-hr. battery design are presented. (Author)
