THE APPLICATION OF PROBIT ANALYSIS TO SIEVE SIZING.

Abstract

This report presents a method of statistical analysis for particle size data obtained by sieving. The equations developed in this report give a simplified method for determining the least squares fit for data represented by a log-normal distribution function. Mathematical equations include: (1) Computation of the least squares parameters; (2) relations between the least squares parameters and the MMD and geometric standard deviation. (Author)
