EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF DIRECT RADIATION FROM ELECTRON BUNCHES TRAVELING IN CIRCULAR ORBITS IN A STRONG MAGNETIC FIELD.

Abstract

This program was concerned with the generation of microwave energy in the millimeter and submillimeter frequency domain by the use of generation of electromagnetic radiation having high harmonic content by electrons traveling in circular orbits. This program demonstrated that an approximate improvement of 9 db in power output over the previous model could be accomplished. In addition, a study program utilizing the betatron accelerator approach was conducted and the results of this task are presented.
