British-Type Wire Supports; Evaluation of

Abstract

Tests were conducted, in conjunction with Mark 7 Mod 3 arresting-gear programs, to determine the feasibility of using the British-type wire supports in place of the spring-leaf-type supports presently used on board ships. Results of the tests indicate the British-type wire supports are unacceptable in their present configuration.
