IMPLEMENTATION OF PROGRAM TRANSLATION (X-ACT).

Abstract

A computer program that operates on the CDC 1604 and is capable of translating IBM 7090 programs into equivalent CDC 1604 programs was implemented. The translating program performs four basic operations: (1) acquisition of the source program, (2) identification of all instructions and extraction of related information, (3) analysis to generate a machine idependent symbolic description of the program, (4) compilation into CODAP target program. The translating program requires IBM 7090 programs in binary form, the program loader and, under option, subroutine cards if subroutines are present but should not be translated. The translator produces equivalent CDC 1604 programs in CODAP as card images on tape. (Author)
