WAVEGUIDE, WAVEGUIDE CIRCUITS AND ANTENNA RESEARCH STUDY.

Abstract

The formula used to calculate the conduction loss of the end plates of a beam waveguide resonator was found to be in error and was corrected. The previously reported supposition that the field on the axis of the resonator was zero for certain large iris coupling holes was found to be in error. An analysis was made of a cutoff-coupled dielectric filled resonator which is to be used as a microwave filter. Design equations predicting the resonant frequency, Q's, and insertion loss at resonance were obtained. The behavior of a cascaded arrangement of cutoff-coupled dielectric resonators was also investigated. (Author)
