COHERENT OPTICAL ADAPTIVE TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

The report describes results that were achieved during the contract period regarding the practicality of atmospheric turbulence compensation by phase adjustment of elemental areas across an optical wavefront. This is demonstrated both theoretically and experimentally at 1.06 microns. In addition it defines a number of areas where effort is needed before an adaptive phased array optical antenna can be designed and fabricated. (Author)
