OSCILLATOR STRENGTHS OF THE A, W, AND C BANDS OF N2.

Abstract

Band oscillator strengths for some transitions of N2 were measured from the absorption spectrum in the 1050 to 1450 A region. The spectrum was observed photoelectrically at pressures up to 40 atm using the argon continuum as a background light source. The f-value for the electronic transition a derived from X is 1/310,000.
