CLIMATIC HANGAR TEST OF THE OH-6A LIGHT OBSERVATION HELICOPTER.

Abstract

An engineering and operational suitability evaluation of the Helicopter (LOH) was conducted in the Climatic Hangar. The test aircraft was subjected to extreme low and high temperatures to determine operational characteristics and aircraft suitability for Department of the Army use under actual extreme temperature conditions. The engineering evaluation and operational suitability test was conducted with the aircraft installed in the Climatic Laboratory, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. A total of 26 runs was conducted at +70, 0, -25, -45, -65 and +115 degrees Fahrenheit controlled temperature for a total of 26:48 hours of operation. These test runs were accomplished during the period 18 January through 17 March 1965.
