EFFECTS OF HIGH VOLTAGE POWER TRANSMISSION TOWERS ON ANTENNA PATTERNS AND GAIN.

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to show the effects of two types of high voltage power transmission line towers on the patterns and gain of a parabolic antenna. The obstructions were in the path of the antenna beam. It was found that the obstructions (towers) tend to transfer power out of the main beam into the antenna sidelobes. The effects were sufficiently small however that further investigation was not warranted at this time. Suggestions for further research are given. (Author)
