TEM DIGITAL FERRITE PHASE SHIFTERS.

Abstract

Efforts were continued on a program to design compact, temperature stable, medium power S-, C-, and X-band digital reciprocal phase shifters utilizing ferrite materials with rectangular hysteresis loops. A new transverse driver circuitry is described with which the switching energy, required to switch the ferrite phase shifting element between its longitudinally and transversely magnetized states at C-band, has been substantially reduced. An experimental X-band stripline phase shifter has been constructed and preliminary performance data of this device are given.
