AIR-TO-GROUND GUNNERY SIMULATION; OEG COMPUTER PROGRAM 18-63P

Abstract

The memorandum presents a usage manual for an IBM 7090 computer program which uses a Monte Carlo simulation to determine the probability of destroying a rectangular target with air-to-ground gunnery. The effect of correlation of successive aim points is considered. It is assumed that the aim point is distributed with a bivariate normal aiming error and that the individual rounds are distributed with an independent bivariate normal ballistic dispersion. A flow chart, a listing of the FORTRAN program and a sample problem are included.
