CHEMISTRY AND SYNTHESIS OF MULTIFUNCTIONAL CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS.

Abstract

A study of the chemistry and synthesis of certain multifunctional aromatic and heterocyclic intermediates for polymer synthesis was carried out. Compounds supplied to Air Force Materials Laboratory include biphenyl-2,2',6,6'-tetracarboxylic acid, 2,2',6,6'-tetraaminobiphenyl hydrochloride, 1,5-diamino-2,4-dinitrobenzene, purified 1,2,4,5-tetraaminobenzene and purified naphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylic acid. Compounds whose syntheses were investigated include, 5,6,11,12-tetrahydro quinoxalino(2,3-b)quinoxaline, 1,8-diaminonaphthalene-4,5-dicarboxylic acid, 2,3,7,8-tetraaminodibenzofuran and 2,2'-oxydiisophthalic acid.
