IMPROVED DETECTION AND IDENTIFICATION OF INCAPACITATING AND LETHAL AGENTS.

Abstract

The search for specific, sensitive and direct methods for the detection of a wide variety of functional groups was continued. During this reporting period, emphasis was placed on the development of reagents for the detection of organophosphorus type reagents. In this regard, second order Beckman reactions were studied in an effort to develop compounds that cleave to give detectable fragments. Oximes that cleave to give highly colored triaryl dyes or odoriferous mercaptans were examined. (Author)
