PRELIMINARY NUCLEAR RADIATION STUDY ON A HIGH-PRECISION, REMOTELY SETTABLE, ELECTRONIC TIMER SYSTEM, PHASE II.
Abstract
A preliminary study of nuclear radiation damage was conducted on an electronic timer system designed and fabricated for the Air Force Weapons Laboratory. The study consisted of a literature search and components radiation-damage tests leading to recommended areas of concentration and changes in the AFWL timer. Neutron irradiation tests on the FT40 transistor, the FD700 diode, and several YSI semiconductor thermistors which are considered for use are included. (Author)
