ORGANO-METALLIC AND ORGANO-METALLOIDAL HIGH-TEMPERATURE LUBRICANTS AND RELATED MATERIALS.
Abstract
The objective of the studies is the preparation of useful, thermally stable fluids and lubricants. The preparation of entirely novel compounds having two or more of the most reactive functional groups is reported. These monomers provide an essential route to the preparation of a wide variety of custom-made polymers. The monomers so prepared have not only two or more of the most highly reactive functional groups, but these functional groups can be different within a molecule and thus provide a maximum opportunity for selective or preferential reactions leading to the polymers. There is also reported the first results on perchloro and particularly perfluoro types which should provide a greater variety of useful, highly thermally stable polymers. (Author)
