EVALUATION OF MOBILE REPAIR PARTS CONTAINER (MOCON).

Abstract

The mobile repair parts container (MOCON) is a portable, unitized container stocked with enough spares to supply the organizational maintenance requirements of a battle-group task force. Its use is based on an automatic resupply concept of using direct-support organizations exchanging depleted units for replenished units every 15 days, or sooner if the tactical situation requires. Used by battalion-size organizations under tactical conditions, the containers appeared to represent a significant advance in supplying spares for organizational repairs.
